thanks for the mocca fest, everybody!  we did better than expected and i got to meet a lot of nice teachers!  maybe next year i won’t be having a big anxiety attack the whole time.  when i got home i felt tired and overwhelmed but for some reason i couldn’t go to sleep before drawing one of the celestials.

maybe it’s a metaphor or something, or maybe i just like old crappy comics.  the biggest score for me at the show was finding that issue of x-factor that mazzucchelli drew for only 3 bucks!  what a deal!

MoCCA Fest/To Teach Release

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

This weekend is the Mocca Fest! It will be the first time ever that To Teach can be purchased!  I will be there all weekend and Bill Ayers will be there on Sunday!  He is sad about how I am getting all of the attention for this book, so please be kind and say hello to him. We will sign your books!

I got a few copies in the mail this week and the cover is all shiny and enticing!  I’m really happy with how this book came out.

blog button survey

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

dear readers,

ohyesverynice is getting ready for an overhaul!  there are lots of little design to-do’s and one tricky bit is the button for this here blog section.  what image says blog?  i decided to go through and find an image that had been posted on here before, but then i realized i have like a zillion old posts on this thing.  what a lot of work!  i narrowed it down to 4 and then i thought id ask blog readers what they thought…

so whattayathink?  the cool thing about this is that ill probably get like 1 response, which means that whoever responds pretty much gets to pick the winner.  dont you wish that voting was always like that?
